Catalyst Financial Company Invoice Factoring Review

Catalyst Financial Company Invoice Factoring Review

Overview

Catalyst Financial Company is based in Texas and offers a number of different accounts receivable financing options. They largely focus on working with business based in Texas, especially in the Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, and Houston areas. They were founded in 1994 and work with small to medium-sized businesses.

Pros

Catalyst Financial has a host of experience behind them. They’ve been doing business for more than 20 years, and allow businesses to submit invoices as often as they like once they are approved for an account. This saves businesses time and trouble that can come from batch processing requirements, as well as issues resulting from not submitting an invoice on time. Funding is usually available the same day that an invoice is submitted to them, and they offer a consumer gateway so that businesses can check on the status of their funding and the invoices that Catalyst Financial is holding. Moreover, you can choose which invoices you factor and which you don’t. For those that you don’t factor, Catalyst will give you 100% of the payment, and that is distributed two times per week.

Cons

Catalyst does not offer non-recourse factoring. This means that companies will be charged back for any invoices that go beyond 90 days past the due date. This can seriously interrupt a business’s cash flow and interfere with core business processes if the invoice is large enough. Catalyst also suffers from a lack of transparency. There isn’t any pricing or rate information available on their website, and that can lead to some confusion when dealing with sales reps or customer service personnel.

Verdict

Catalyst seems to be a good choice for medium, Texas-based businesses, but for most businesses and companies we’d recommend looking elsewhere for your factoring needs until Catalyst publishes more information about their rates and fees.
